None of these prospects fill me with joy, but I’ll tell you straight up – that last option makes my blood run cold. When you’re surrounded by armed, raging barbarians, well, that is not the optimal time to lay down your sword… even if you don’t have the will or the inclination to use it. Even if you wave it around a little, it can have a remarkable effect. Unless, of course, you’re running away when you do it, in which case it just pisses them off even more.
Sorry for the delay in updating… your author has been out of town.
However, once again, your full-service, multi-media, friendly neighborhood Eject! staff has helpfully provided you with the choice of watching the editorial on www.pjtv.com, which you can do FREE and WITHOUT REGISTRATION by clicking here.
Or you can read a slightly expanded version at National Review Online by clicking here.
I know many people miss the longer-form essays. I’ll have an update on that very shortly… and when I say shortly, I mean in a hour or so.
Welcome to the Eject! Eject! Eject! commenter community. Please read and understand the following:

Here I always assumed it was a comment on the economy. If we're deep in a recession a year from now, and The One has done nothing, then the poll numbers might well plummet.
Besides, your theories don't seem to fit - why would a group of Democrats be worried about looking weak militarily? That seems to be the stance they habitually prefer.

Heck, first thing that popped into my mind was mass compulsory religious conversions. (You guess which one.)

I was only 6 when Jimmy Carter took control in January of 1977. During his re-election campaign in 1980, I'll never forget what my mom told me (just a nine year old at the time) when I asked her who she was voting for in the election. Her response, with a very sad look in her face: "I always thought Jimmy Carter was a nice man."
A nice man. I'll bet Barack Obama and Joe Biden are both very nice men. That doesn't mean they know the first thing about what it takes to be a President.

"Joe the 'Plummer'"?
Surely you must be kidding; misspelling "plumber" equates to no credibility for you.

Marc, I'm probably as big of a spelling/grammar Nazi as you'll find, but Bill's got a good excuse as a Hollywood guy: Christopher Plummer. In the same vein, Kelsey Grammer has done some damage of his own.

I hate to state the obvious, but Biden is a vain, garrulous, old fool. He's a professional fraud. Easy to do in the Duchy de la Ware. The state has three counties and it's only major city is a suburb of Philadelphia. Delaware functions as an offshore corporate haven without the hassle of actually being an island. Good ole Joe is a puppet of corporate interests. Nice gig if you can get it.
Okay, so what is Joe really suggesting? He hasn't the slightest idea, and he's not even aware when he makes a gaff. He's just Joe. Everbody loves him! Just ask him. He's a brainless, walking, egocentric narcissist (sorry for the obvious redundancy). Joe Biden is proof that God looks after fools.
I'm waiting for someone to ask Barack Obama what Joe Biden meant. Now there's a question waiting to be asked (but I won't hold my breath). Crisis? What crisis? Everything is good. Israel would never move against the Iranian nuclear program without U.S. approval. The pre-emptive strike by the Israeli airforce prior to the Six Day War was an anomaly. Israel's attack on the Osiraq reactor was unfortunate, the result of a misunderstanding. Don't mind those Israeli subs in the Gulf of Oman. We have it direct from the Israeli government that they are there for reconnaissance only.
Joe Biden? Oh, please. Look into his mind and see three words: it's all about me, me, and me. Joe has the same standing where it matters as a Paris Hilton or Michael Jackson. And that's cutting the great baffoon a lot of slack. At least Paris knows what she's doing when she flashes her . . . um, whatever. And Michael knows what he likes be it ever so sordid. But Joe knows only Joe's ego.
Bill, you have wasted precious words on the inexplicable, which by definition is unknowable. No one knows the mind of Joe Biden, least of all Joe Biden. Shame on you, Bill Whittle, you are attempting to see the unseen. In point of fact, there's nothing here TO BE seen. Therein lies the significance: Joe Biden is blank, open and vacuous.
Labrat once told me that in a tribal society parasites would be driven from the village with sticks and stones. Only modernity allows for parasites at the top of the food chain rather than the bottom. Our little sister sees with clarity and insight. And Bill Whittle should take advantage of the insight provided by his brothers and sisters. A good mind is a wonderful thing. A good group mind will find truth where even the best individual minds fail.

Wow, Marc -- you get bonus points. One typo -- in an ocean of correctly spelled versions, I might add -- and that means "no credibility." By the way, where exactly is that typo? The multiple places where I see the word 'plumber' it's spelled correctly.
Throwing an argument out because of a typo buried among correctly spelled versions, so there can be no mistake that it is in fact a typo? NO CREDIBILITY FOR YOU, Marc. Look up EPIC FAIL next time you dig out a dictionary.
That tells me you've got nothing -- NOTHING -- in response.
I expect no less and no more from people with your cognitive abilites.
And don't call me Shirley

A case in point.
Obama's history of favoring redistribution.
Notice how he says that the drafters of the constitution got it WRONG!
AND....
He has to swear an oath the preserve, protect, and defend that very document.
Posted by: daddyquatro | October 26, 2008 11:03 PM
I expect Sen. Obama to uphold the Constitution the same way he salutes the flag ... and he will probably protect the country the some way.

I have just discovered you; in the nick of time too. Thank you for your words that uncovered more data that substantiates Obama's position with facts... It can't be denied unless one didn't learn how to read with comprehension in school.
I hope it is not too late to stop him before Nov.4,2008. If we do it will be another day that goes down in infamy
May God continue to help us!
